In Tallahassee, coffee shops cluster around downtown offices, college campuses and the main commercial streets of residential neighborhoods, and the independents usually close by mid-afternoon while chains stay open into the evening. Across Florida, drive-thru coffee stands and kiosks fill the gap in suburbs and along highways, and roasters often sell bags and brewing gear at the counter. Check the listing for hours, whether the cafe takes mobile orders, and its Google rating and recent reviews; parking is easiest at suburban locations, while downtown shops rely on street meters or nearby garages. Loyalty programs are common and worth joining if you are a regular.

Tallahassee is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Tallahassee follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I had a standard iced latte with oat milk—no syrups or additives. Unfortunately, the espresso in the latte was burnt and bitter. They do not offer coconut or soy milk. These milks typically help cut the burnt or bitter espresso taste. They do offer alternative food options other than sweets which is a plus! The avocado toast was pretty good. I wish it came with freshly sliced avocado.

Coffee is fantastic, the service is quick, and the venue is exactly what you'd expect from a small "hole in the wall" coffee shop. Prices are what you'd expect, and the pastries from Hawthorne are perfectly at home with the solid coffee and tea offerings. It won't blow your mind, but it will consistently give you exactly what you're looking for, and that's pretty hard to beat in my opinion.

I want to start by saying that I’ve been going to RedEye for about five years. I’ve tried plenty of other cafés in Tallahassee, but RedEye was always one of my regular spots. That’s why it’s been disappointing to see how things have changed under the new management. At first, I was actually excited. There was more seating and the place looked refreshed, and it seemed like things were heading in a good direction. But over time, the changes became hard to ignore. Some of the food items I always loved just disappeared. Normally that wouldn’t bother me if the new items were great, but the replacements don’t feel like they fit the café at all. It feels strange to be drinking a latte while staring at a Southwest burrito on the menu, and the food selection overall doesn’t match the vibe RedEye used to have. The oat milk change has also been a big issue for me. RedEye switched to offering only their homemade oat milk. It sounds nice in theory because you think healthier and more natural, but the taste completely takes over anything you order. Every drink ends up tasting like the oat milk instead of the coffee. Even when I skip the milk, the actual coffee tastes different now. The beans s

Tasty coffee and fast friendly service. I was helped immediately and had my menu questions answered. They even made suggestions based on my preferences which pointed me toward the Redeye. For my first time, I would say an overall good experience. I've gone for a second time now, and tried the espresso shot (which apparently they can only pour in doubles because of their machine) and the Rosemary Caramel Latte Hot. The espresso is good, exactly what you'd expect from it. I was quite intrigued by the Rosemary Caramel Latte, which was actually a good flavor pairing. I would certainly drink it on occasion when looking for something sweet, which I do not normally do with coffee.
